Mindfulness Seminar Series

 

Mindfulness refers to the focusing of attention and awareness on the present. It is based on the concept of mindfulness in Buddhist meditation which since the 1970’s has been incorporated into a number of therapeutic applications within modern Psychology.

Although the roots of mindfulness come from Buddhism, it is not inherently religious; rather it helps you become more aware of the present moment by developing awareness around emotional, cognitive and physical sensations.  Research suggests that mindfulness practices are useful in the treatment and management of pain, stress, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, anger management and addiction.

Mindfulness fosters the ability to inhibit those very quick emotional impulses.

This is a 6 week Seminar Series allowing participants to learn the principles of Mindfulness and incorporate it into their daily life.

 

Programme Structure:

6 Week Programme:

6 x weekly workshops focusing on the theory, practice and real life applications of mindfulness for performance, managing the pressure of every day life and greater self-awareness.

We can tailor our approach and focus for the programme depending on your needs, whether you are training manager to help cope with pressure and to promote mindfulness within their team, or providing all team members with the skills to focus their minds and use mindfulness to benefit their work life balance

Direct work with the individual/group includes psycho education around the Mindfulness approach, Mindfulness skills training, and homework to facilitate you learning the practice in a comprehensive manner.

The programme can easily be tailored to fit any existing work-life strategy of the client.

Who Will Deliver It?

A Counselling Psychologist will deliver the programme who have skills in a wide range of psychological approaches, including Mindfulness.

All of our Psychologists are fully qualified and hold current membership of the Psychological Society of Ireland.

 

Number Of Participants:

Limit of 20 persons per workshop.

Expected Results & Measurement:

No objective results can be expected. We expect 50% of those who start the programme to complete the 6 weeks.

We will report on:

  • We will track and report on the approximate numbers of employees who attend each seminar.
  • We will confirm the numbers of employees who sign up and subsequently attend the seminar series
  • We will report on feedback and on the amount that completed the 6 week programme.
