Sleep Workshop series

 

Sleep deprivation directly impacts nearly every cognitive and physiological function imperative for peak employee performance. Our Sleep Technologist delivers CBT based sleep workshops that really empower your employees to better sleep health.

Many employee programs focus on nutrition and exercise—but what about sleep? We consider sleep to be one of the main pillars of health. We want to help you educate your employees about its importance, and provide diagnostic and treatment tools to help those who suffer from sleep apnea and insomnia. At the end of this programme you will see results in the form of employees who are more alert, engaged and productive.

 

Programme Structure

‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia’ is a programme of interventions designed to help people who experience difficulty sleeping to think and behave like good sleepers. During this 5 week programme, we will help participants think of their insomnia as a bad habit that can be corrected.

We will offer support and encouragement to ensure that people establish reliable sleep patterns through 5 X 1 hour workshops, delivered weekly.

The main components of CBT-I are:

  • Changing conditional associations (stimulus control)
  • Sleep restriction
  • Reducing sleep pre-occupation, effort and anxiety around sleep
  • Relaxation techniques

Sleep diaries are provided along with questionnaires. The sessions consolidate skills learned from one week to the next.

Expected Results & Measurement:

By the end of the 5 week programme, we expect that up to 80% of participants have established regular sleep patterns. Employees should begin to see positive change before the completion of the programme so we will be able to assess on an individual level.

We will report on:

  • Average attendance at group sessions
  • How many participants reported positive improvements to their sleep
  • Their level of interaction within the group
  • What participants found most helpful
  • If participants returned to bad habits within a short time of completing the programme
  • Psychologists feedback on the group and their interest levels
 

Number Of Participants:

The programme is limited to 20 people

Extra groups can be facilitated on discussion.

Who will deliver it?

This workshop will be delivered by a qualified sleep technician, who is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and to assist in the education, evaluation, treatment and follow-up of sleep disorders patients of all ages.
